REDspace to deliver unified training portal for SkyAlyne’s Future Aircrew Training program

Canada’s next generation of Royal Canadian Air Force aircrew will soon be supported by a modern digital ecosystem designed to simplify, connect, and future-proof how training is delivered across the country. Canadian technology solutions company REDspace has been subcontracted by SkyAlyne to help deliver a new digital foundation for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program—an ambitious 25-year initiative designed to transform how Canada trains its pilots and aircrew specialists.

Under the agreement, REDspace will design, develop, and deliver the FAcT Web-based Portal and Data Integration solution. At the heart of the system will be a secure digital portal that serves as the program’s internal “digital front door,” giving trainees, instructors, and administrators a single hub through which they can access tools, resources, and operational data.

Behind the interface, REDspace will deploy its proprietary Unified Digital Framework (UDF), creating an integration layer that connects multiple systems, enables data sharing, and allows the platform to evolve as technologies and training needs change.

Modern aircrew training generates enormous volumes of data and involves a wide array of systems—from scheduling tools and simulation platforms to learning management systems and performance analytics. Historically, navigating these systems can be cumbersome, often requiring users to move between disconnected platforms to access critical information. The new portal is designed to eliminate that complexity.

With a single sign-on environment and role-based dashboards, trainees and staff will be able to log in once and immediately see the information relevant to their role. Whether preparing for a flight exercise, reviewing training materials, or monitoring performance metrics, users will have streamlined access to the digital tools that support their training journey.

At the same time, the integration layer powered by REDspace’s Unified Digital Framework will bring together data from across the FAcT enterprise. By unifying these data streams, the system will enable advanced analytics and provide decision-makers with a clearer view of training progress, operational performance, and program effectiveness.

Future Aircrew Training is designed as a generational program—one that will serve the Royal Canadian Air Force for decades to come.

REDspace’s Unified Digital Framework is intended to ensure that the digital backbone supporting the program remains adaptable over the full life cycle of the initiative. The architecture is built to scale as new technologies emerge, allowing future capabilities—including evolving artificial intelligence tools—to integrate seamlessly into the training ecosystem.

That forward-looking design means the digital platform will not only support current training requirements but will also allow the program to evolve alongside advances in aviation, simulation, and data-driven training methodologies.

The FAcT program represents one of the most comprehensive transformations of Canadian military aviation training in decades. Over the next several years, three existing Royal Canadian Air Force training programs will transition into the unified FAcT framework, consolidating responsibilities under a single integrated system. Once complete, FAcT will serve as the RCAF’s sole ab-initio training program for pilots and aircrew specialists.

The program will deliver foundational training for RCAF pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSOs), and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Ops). Oversight of the program is managed through a Joint Management Office located at SkyAlyne’s headquarters in Ottawa. Operational training activities will take place across three Canadian bases: Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Southport, Manitoba; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.

By bringing together advanced aircraft, simulation systems, instructional expertise, and now an integrated digital platform, the program aims to create a seamless training pipeline capable of preparing the next generation of Canadian aircrew.
