The big picture: HMCS Ville de Québec left Halifax today to join Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1), the latest chapter in Canada's ongoing contribution to NATO collective defence.

Also deployed: HMCS Moncton and HMCS Edmonton left port July 6 to support Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group One, operating in European waters through October 2026 on mine countermeasure operations.
